With all the time out of the house due to flooding it's given me time to read some books that I've had on my "I really must read those" list. Top of that list was Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.
The book centers around a guy called Wade, Wade like most of the people on the book spends all his time in an immersive MMORPG called The Oasis. In The Oasis users log in to go to school, socialise and look for the golden egg. The golden egg is the legacy of one of the Oasis creators James Halliday. Halliday has died and created a series of puzzles throughout the Oasis universe that when solved will lead to a great treasure (the golden egg). As his avatar Parzival Wade is one on many Hunters (golden egg hunters) in the oasis.
The book is filled with 80's music, film and game references. If you like the 80's and sci fi then you'll like this book. The book is being made into a film directed by Steven Spielberg, due for release in 2018.
Ernest Cline's 2nd book Armada is out now, yes it's on my read list.
