This album has been out for a while now andrviewing it is bittersweet for me as it's great to have a live Bellowhead album but it's also signalling the end of the band. The wonderful 11 piece folk powerhouse that they are.

The album was recorded on the November leg of the fatewell tour in 2015 and was released to cooincide with part 2 of the farewell tour in 2016. I saw them live twice, once in the Liverpool Philarmonic Hall and then again a few months later in King Georges Hall in Blackburn and loved both gigs. Below are 2 pics I took at the Blackburn gig

They are such a fun live band, by the end everyone is dancing in the jig pit at the front of the stage.

Anyway, back to the album. It's a good collection of songs spanning thier 5 studio albums (Matachin, Burlesque, Hedonism, Broadside & Revival). There are a few songs that I wish were on the album that arent but it's just a personal thing. I'd like to have seen Little Sally Racket, Cholera Camp and Crosseyed & Chinless on there. It's also nice to see a few of the rarer played songs included, Jordan was a particular highlight for me as it's always been a favorite of mine that was mostly overlooked when they were live. I discovered bellowhead relativly late, I came across them when Broadside was released and I was sent a link to a stream preview of the ablum and loved it.

It's not really a style of music that I ever took much notice of before and I now question why. Some of the band members have/had side projects that I've also listened to now. Rachael McShane has a solo abum out called No Man's Fool which is superb. Sam Sweeney has 2 albums out with Hannah James (Catches & Glees and State & Ancientry) Also Boden & Spears (Jon & John respectically) have a few albums out. I recommend all of them

Here's a few songs to have a listen to from Bellowhead
